How to start a Dancing with the Stars fantasy league for two

One friend. Two teams. Plenty to argue about on show night. A brawl is your own private Dancing with the Stars fantasy game, with a draft, weekly predictions and scores you can follow together.

You and your rival each need an account. One person creates the brawl and shares the invitation; both players agree to the rules before drafting.

1. Sign in and choose your name

Sign in with Google or an emailed code, then choose a display name your rival will recognise. My Account lets you change that name and choose a preset avatar later.

You do not need to organise a big group. Each brawl has exactly two players, and it is free to play.

2. Give your brawl a name

From My brawls, choose the option to start a brawl. Enter a name for your rivalry and create it. Sequin Showdown is the example shown here; yours can be as dramatic as you like.

3. Invite your rival

Copy the invitation link from your brawl and send it to the person you want to play against. They follow the link and sign in to take the second seat.

Invitations expire after seven days. If yours expires before your rival joins, return to the brawl to create a replacement invitation. Share the link directly with your intended rival: someone with it can claim the open seat.

4. Agree to the rules and get ready

Both players read and accept the rules. Once both are ready, the game randomly chooses who picks first and opens the snake draft.

Check the draft deadline shown in your brawl. Your roster needs to be complete before you can make predictions. Scoring begins with your brawl’s first eligible episode, with no points added for earlier episodes.

Common questions

Is Ballroom Brawlers free?

Yes. There are no entry fees, cash prizes or paid leagues. You are playing for bragging rights.

Can I join after the season has started?

You can start a brawl when the game offers an eligible upcoming episode and a draft pool. You draft from the remaining couples, and earlier episodes do not earn retroactive points.

Do we have to watch together?

No. You can watch separately and reveal your own results when you are ready. Both players still need to meet the displayed draft and prediction deadlines.
